Making Space
For a long time, I thought creating space for myself required finding more time.
A free afternoon.
A lighter schedule.
A week off.
Something substantial.
What I've come to realize is that space rarely arrives that way.
Most of the time, it appears in small moments.
The minute before getting out of the car.
A quiet cup of coffee before the rest of the house wakes up.
A walk around the block.
A few lines in a journal.
A deep breath between one task and the next.
We often imagine that meaningful change requires dramatic action.
A new routine.
A better system.
A complete life overhaul.
But many of the things that have made the biggest difference in my life started as small pauses.
Tiny moments when I stopped rushing long enough to notice where I was.
How I felt.
What I needed.
Looking back, creating space had less to do with finding more time and more to do with paying attention to the time that was already there.
